For a list of available Academic Advisers, please see: http://www.studentadmin.mq.edu.au/undergrad/currentstudents/advisers.html
When checking the list, check carefully. Some advisers only assist undergraduates or postgraduates. Almost all advise in specific areas of study. Make sure to match the student status and area of study with the correct adviser before asking the student to email for an appointment.
If an adviser for the student need does not seem to be available, refer the student to their faculty administration, who will assist them in contacting the correct adviser.

Open the required links (down to the required department) and generally on the left you will see an option Contact Us. Select the administrative staff for phone extensions and building/room numbers.

Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students can be contacted at: http://www.deanofstudents.mq.edu.au/
The first point of reference for all University-related difficulties a student might experience is their Faculty. If they are studying in multiple Faculties, it is the Faculty where the issue occurred if unit-related, or the Faculty of your degree if it is more global.
However, if a student is unable to resolve issues with their tutor or the lecturer in charge of the unit, or the Faculty staff cannot resolve the issue, the next step is to seek the advice of the Dean of Students.
Contact the Dean of Students if:
-you have a problem and don't know how to proceed;
-you're not sure of your rights in a particular situation and need information about University policies or practices;
-you are experiencing academic difficulties within the University.
