Virtual Browse Bookshelf on the catalogue

Clients are able to browse our shelves (open access and ARC) remotely using the Virtual Browse Bookshelf on the catalogue. Located at the bottom of each catalogue record, the Bookshelf displays an image of books on either side of the item being searched. You can use the arrows on the left and right to view the range of books in your subject area.

To view:

• Open the Catalogue.




• Locate your book title and open the catalogue record.




• The Bookshelf automatically opens at the bottom of the record. Scroll down to 'Browse this shelf' - the covers of the books are shown.




• Use the arrows at the top to move left and right. The Up arrow returns you to the original book.




• Move the cursor over the book to get more detail including call number.

Important: The Virtual Bookshelf does not operate in Google Chrome. If a client says they can't see it at home, this is the probable reason.
