1. First ask the client if they are a current Macquarie University student.
2. If they are a current Macquarie University student, refer them to: http://www.ofs.mq.edu.au/student_finances/paying_fees.htm
This webpage lists all of the payment options open to current MU students.
3. If they are not a current Macquarie University student (SIBT, CME, Alumni, Associate, Reciprocal etc), refer them to: Library Homepage - Borrowing - Fines - scroll down to Payment Options. Here they will find a form that they can fax to the Cashier.
4. Finally, if they are confused, remind them that the Cashier is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (Lincoln Building C8A). They will need to take their current Library borrowing card, SIBT card or CME card to the cashier.
Additional information about fines:
a. The Library does not charge interest on fines. Therefore if a client cannot pay the fine for a week or so, it will not increase (some clients are concerned about this).
b. Current Macquarie University students who do not pay their fines before the exam period risk not receiving their results until the fine is paid.
