Reserve - troubleshooting


1. When discharging Reserve items:
One - check the barcode of each item that you discharge, on the monitor - if the barcode isn't on the monitor, you haven't discharged the item.

Two - take two items out of the bin at a time, and discharge, stamp and resensitize these items before doing anymore.
The desk is so busy that it's easy to miss details when discharging, so please, try what I've suggested.


2. Check the Returns Bin:
I
tems build up in the returns bin very quickly, and it's easy to ignore them in favour of 'the person at the counter'. However, each Reserve item in the bin represents a customer, and if you neglect that customer, THEY WILL BE FINED if the item is sufficiently overdue. This is avoided only by discharging Reserve returns as a priority.
