Toilet Area Issues

When you receive any complaint about any toilet, please follow these steps:

First - find out exactly which toilet is the problem. Please be very precise about this eg: Men’s Toilet, Level 3, Postgraduate Reading Room

Second – find out exactly what is wrong. ‘Disgusting’ isn’t useful. Please ask them to describe how it is disgusting eg: paper on floor, water on floor, used needles discarded in the toilets, faecal matter on toilet seats etc.

Third – please advise your Service Coordinator, who will further investigate if needed and then decide on the appropriate action (eg: immediate cleaning, closing of a particular toilet etc).
The Service Coordinator will then fill out the Maintenance and Repair Request Form on the Intranet and ensure any OHS concerns are contained.

During evening shifts and weekends, the Service Coordinator will investigate and contact Security if urgent work is needed. The University has a plumber on retainer for such problems.
